Simon Dwyer was trial at Exeter in October 1990.

A striker he was playing for Denaby United in the Northern Counties East League, (Jon Brown and Andy Tibbenham had also played for them).

He played and scored for Exeter City Resrves in a  5-3 win over Cardiff at the Cat and Fiddle, however the 25 year old was seen as being too similar to Neville and so was released.
