SPOTLIGHT ON THE PLAYERS
"Brenda Frayne is in her third season as an Exeter Ladies player, and after two seasons spent mainly as an enthusiastic substitute, started off this term as our first- choice goalkeeper. Brenda used her previous appearances as deputy in goal to learn by experience, and when she made some dramatic saves to play a vital part in the Heavitree 5-a-side cup competition, which we won, it became clear that she would be more than competent at taking over our Number 1 spot in the Western League side. With the aid of a regular place in the side, Brenda has settled down to become a consistently good goalkeeper whose bravery has won her much admiration from players and spectators alike."

Brenda made her 100th appearance for Exeter LFC in a Western League game against Cardiff on the 28th October 1984. Brenda played in goal for Exeter Ladies in 1979 and was still playing for Exeter L.F.C. in 1986-87. Brenda moved to Bridgwater in the 1990's and played in goal for them.
