Mandy began her footballing career at Calstock Ladies in 1973, moving to Tiverton Ladies for two seasons, before joining Exeter, for another two seasons.
Mandy then decided to move to Kingsteignton after 2 games in August 1980, where she spent sometime before rejoining Tiverton. After one season at Tivvy she eventually settled back at Exeter at the end of the 1981/82 season, continuing to play from 1982 to 1987. 

In the Frome Town WFA Cup programme in September 1987 the following was written, the match that Mandy was injured in against Plymouth. 

"We wish Mandy L. a very speedy recovery, she has torn her ligaments and chipped a bone in her foot, this injury was incurred in last weeks game. Her skill on the pitch will be greatly missed"

Mandy has the flair and skill of a very good player and can often use her skill to score very important goals Although Mandy admits to disliking hard training. she has worked hard this season to get fitter than she has been for a long time, and this shows in her sprinting and her determination to get through a defence when on the attack. Mandy has one of the most direct and powerful shots and isn't afraid to have a go if the chance occurs".

She had also played the Western League and South Western League in representative games.
