Biographical Text
Durham-born William Storey played a handful of games for Exeter City at the start of the 1937/38 season having signed from Swindon Town. He later played for Gateshead.
William Storey played Washington Colliery prior to signing for Bolton Wanderers in 1934. He never had a first-team outing for the club and moved on to Swindon Town in 1935 where he finally got his league chance making 17 appearances and scoring two goals.
Linking up with Exeter City in the summer of 1937, he featured in five of the first seven games but not at all thereafter in spite of scoring against Bristol City and Gillingham.
He returned to his native North East and moved to Gateshead where he was to play three Third Division North matches.
