Kaptein, Anthea

Anthea joined Exeter at the start of the 2019/20, making 15 appearances and scoring 7 goals in the curtailed league season.

An experienced midfielder, Anthea became the second signing of the summer as they continue their preparations for the FA Women’s National League Division One South West. 

On signing for City, Anthea said: “I’m really pleased. I played against Exeter last season and I was looking to further my footballing ability with a team that was local to me and Exeter is ideal.

In 2018/19 Anthea played for Marine Academy.

During the 2nd National lockdown in November 2020 due the pandemic the team produced some articles from players about players entitled.

On the 15th August 2022, the club announced the following 

"Anthea Kaptein has departed Exeter City Women after a successful three year spell. 

The midfielder made forty two appearances in Red and White, scoring sixteen times. Kaptein signed for the Grecians in 2019, arriving from Marine Academy Plymouth, and her quality in positively effecting games was soon evident. A regular contributor of goals from her midfield role, she has been a key member of the team's successful return to the fourth tier of Women's Football. Tee, as she is better known, will be missed within the City squad after forging strong friendships, the Armed Forces Midfielder undeniably leaves with everyone's best wishes. Abbie Britton, City Joint Manager, reflected on Tee's time at Exeter City. “Tee has been a great servant to our Club and a big part of what we have achieved in recent years. We all wish her well.”
