Kilburn-Thompson, Esme
Esme came through the club's development centre and signed for Exeter in the Summer of 2020, after graduating through the clubs development centre.
Esme was part of Devon FA development squad in 2019/20.
Esme scored two goals on her senior debut against Poole Town in the opening game of the 2020/21 season.
Esme was one of 5 players from City who took part in the National College’s Regional Trials on the 31st of October 2020. The club wrote,
Esme was "Player Of The Month" for October with 39% of the vote, the Trophy was presented by Clive Harrison of the newly formed Supporters Club.
"It's really pleasing to win an award voted for by the supporters. I want to keep starting games, scoring goals and play my part in the team's success"
During the 2nd National lockdown in November 2020 due the pandemic the team produced some articles from players about players entitled.
"Our New Lockdown Series Starts"

In early January 2022 the club announced
"Esme Kilburn-Thompson has signed for Torquay United, as the young forward departs the Grecians in search of more playing time.
Progressing through the Girls development Centre, Esme made her debut in September of 2020, scoring twice in a win over Poole Town. An FA Cup goal against AEK BOCO followed in early December, with Esme winning the Supporters Club Player of the Month award for her impressive early season form.
It would the Devon County Cup Final that put the seventeen year old in the spotlight, her two goals against Plymouth Argyle were enough to give City the County Cup for the first time in six years. It was a significant performance to end a fine first season, Esme picking up the Young Female Player of the Year Award for her accomplishments.
With the forward’s desire to continue her development at a higher level, it has been agreed for a move to Torquay United, who play in the South West Regional Premier Division. City joint Manger Abbie Britton is sad to see Esme depart. “It is important for young players to get game time; it is vital in any players development. We have some in form forwards at the Club right now and it has been difficult for Esme to get the game time she wants. We will miss her; she is such a great girl and she will do well at Torquay. I hope to see her back in red and white in the future.”
As ‘One Of Our Own,’ we wish Esme the best of luck for the rest of the season and look forward to seeing her continue her progress."

Esme Kilburn-Thompson joined Cardiff Met in 2023 but had to wait until December for her first goals in a Cardiff Met shirt, but she did it in spectacular style, scoring half of her side’s goals in a 10-0 Genero Adran Trophy win over Coed Duon
“This is the most goals I have scored in any season I’ve played in which is definitely something I’m proud of and grateful for Met for pushing me to achieve that,” she says.
That’s quite an achievement for a player who caught the eye in the south west of England during her junior years with Exeter City and Torquay United. Last year she decided to take up a football scholarship in the USA – something she had always dreamed of – but as things were not progressing as she had wanted, she headed home to take up a place studying sports management at Cardiff Metropolitan University and to sign for their team as well."
