North Devonian Chris Southcombe made a solitary Southern League appearance for Exeter City in November 1919.  

After an outstanding display in a friendly played for Exeter City reserves at Barnstaple Town, Chris - who had previously played for his home town club South Molton - was called up into the Grecians’ first team for the game at Watford in February 1920.

Proving to be his only first-team outing, he later returned to play for South Molton.
