Neil was a centre half on trial from Taunton who played and scored, against Newport County in the midweek reserve league in January 1989.
He played for a number of clubs in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset and, in addition to Taunton, enjoyed particularly notable stints at Bideford and Falmouth Town.
