Robbie Willmott played seventeen league matches for Exeter in 2021 whilst on loan from Newport County for whom he was to appear nearly 300 times in two spells. He had also played for Cambridge United and Luton Town.
Robbie, from Harlow, started his career at relatively-nearby Cambridge United where he played 135 times in all competitions either side of a season at Luton Town. He then had his first spell at Newport County between 2013 and 2015 when he helped the Monmouthshire club return to the Football League. After leaving Rodney Parade, as part of a cost-cutting exercise, Robbie was at Ebbsfleet and Chelmsford before rejoining Newport in May 2017. Having played around ninety games during his first stay at Newport, Robbie made 200 appearances the second time around including FA Cup games against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Leicester City.
Robbie came to Exeter on loan at the end of the January 2021 transfer window and made his debut against Bradford City on 6 February 2021 before scoring his only goal for the Grecians at Colchester on 23 February 2021.
After playing 17 games for City, Robbie returned to Newport and signed a new contract in June 2021. He was to feature regularly for Newport before joining Walsall on loan in January 2023 for the remainder of the season. At Walsall Robbie played again for Michael Flynn who had managed him at Newport before, following his release from Newport at the end of the season, agreeing terms with National League Woking in June 2023.
After a few months in Surrey, Robbie moved to Weston-super-Mare on loan for the remainder of the season before signing for Barry Town United on a regular basis in August 2024.
