Tony Moore had played for Camborne Lions, with whom City had a nursery club-type arrangement, and was invited for a trial in November 1982. 

Making an appearance for City's 'A' team in the Devon and Exeter League, he subsequently played for Porthleven and Holman Sports Club (Camborne).
