John Chittenden played for Exeter City Colts in the 1950's. 

Born in 1936, John played youth football and for the local school district teams, he was a "much a sought after player and also prolific goalscorer". He represented Exeter Schools team in 1952/53 also played for Exeter City Colts & City A teams. 

John went on to play for Exmouth Town for many years in the local leagues and in the Western League where he was still representing Exmouth Town  in his mid-forties.

He was all around sportsman playing Cricket at club level as well as representing Devon at Cricket, Table Tennis, Badminton, Swimming & Water Polo.

John died on the 4th July 2021
