Colin Daniel was an experienced defender who played eight games for Exeter City in the first half of 2021/22.
Colin started his career with Eastwood Town in Nottinghamshire and turned professional with Crewe Alexandra in July 2007. Whilst at Crewe he was loaned to Grays Athletic, Leek Town, Halifax Town and Macclesfield Town before joining Macclesfield on a permanent basis in May 2009.
Colin spent three years with Macclesfield moving to Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee in August 2012. He helped the Stags win the Conference Premier title in 2012–13 and signed for Port Vale in June 2014 briefly returning to Mansfield on loan in February 2016.
Colin switched to Blackpool in June 2016 and helped the Seasiders achieve promotion with a play-off victory over Exeter City in May 2017. After another season on the Lancashire coast, Colin signed for Peterborough United in May 2018 and Burton Albion in January 2019.
On his release from Burton at the end of 2020/21, Colin signed a one-year deal with Exeter City towards the end of August 2021. He first played for City as an over-age player in an Premier League Under-23 Cup game and made a scoring first-team debut against Cheltenham Town in a Football League Trophy game on 5 October 2022.
Colin played four league games, and four cup matches, before moving to Aldershot Town on loan in February 2002 where he remained for the rest of the season. He then, upon his release from Exeter in the summer, signed a one-year deal to play in the National League for newly-relegated Scunthorpe United.
Following Scunthorpe's second successive relegation Colin left the North Lincolnshire club in May 2023 and joined Worksop Town who he helped reach the first round prper of the FA Cup in 2023/24.
