Gary was on trial at Exeter City in 1993, described as a utility player from Manchester City. He played a few games for Exeter City reserves.
He was a success with Cliftonville, in 1998 winning the League as well as a Cup and two league cups.
Gary was part of the most successful schoolboys team ever produced at Home Farm, Ireland and made a move to Manchester City as a youngster.
He represented the Rep of Ireland at under 15, 16, Youth and under 21s levels.
