Biographical Text
Dubliner Gary Sliney was 20-years-old when he had a trial with Exeter City in 1993.
Starting with Home Farm in Dublin, he had gone to Manchester City as a youth player where he represented the Republic of Ireland at all age levels through to under-21. Unsuccessful in winning a contract at St James' Park, he signed for Belfast club Cliftonville for whom he won league and cup honours.
He also played in the north for Bangor, Newry and Ards whilst also appearing for Dublin City and Dundalk in the League of Ireland through to 2005.
