Biographical Text
Wilf Rowe, who played for the club's reserves and colts just after the war, was the younger brother of Stan Rowe who made 150 league and cup appearances for Exeter City betwen 1947 and 1955.
A fitter's mate from Merrivale Road in Exeter, he spent several seasons at St James' Park from around 1946 when he was aged twenty-two. Making appearances for the reserves in the Southern League, he also played for the Devon county amateur team before joining Barnstaple Town of the Western League on a semi-professional basis.
