Biographical Text

Sid Andrews featured towards the end of recently-renamed Exeter City’s first season in 1904/05. Playing regularly through the following season he played his final first-team match in October 1906.

He made his competitive debut in the colours of Exeter City the 112th Battery Royal Artillery on 12 March 1905, one of three league appearances in 1904/05. Then featured throughout 1905/06 before making just a couple of appearances at the start of the following campaign.

Sidney Andrews (13) was living in Blackboy Road according to the 1901 census - which, if it is the same person, would have made him aged between 16 and 18 when playing for Exeter City - and is listed as an insurance clerk in the 1911 census (which would place him in the same profession as several other players of the time).
