GRECIANS WIN AT HOME PARK
Weather Ruins Devon Derby
Exeter City 3 Plymouth Argyle 1.
Devonshire's Southern League representatives opposed each other at Home Park in heavy rain before 6,000 spectators. The City were at full strength, but the Argyle, who are having one of their worst ever seasons in the Southern League, made some changes, Gosling, the Devon County amateur, appearing on their left wing. The old backs, Butler and Atterbury, were preferred to Forbes and Russell.

Rigby won the toss, and Burch kicked off against a gale of wind and rain. Exeter were smart on the wings, Dockray and Holt being too fast for Durnin and Forbes, but Atterbury cleared many dangerous moves, and Craig saved from W.Goodwin. At half time nothing had been scored.
The Argyle were much the better side after changing ends, but Exeter scored three times through Holt, Butler (through his own goal) and W.Goodwin (penalty). Burch scored for the Argyle.
