FRIENDLY MATCH:
CITY v PLYMOUTH AND DISTRICT LEAGUE XI.
Exeter City, following their arduous and highly successful tour, had a rest from Southern League engagements, and were the only club in the competition not fighting for points. Mr Thomas, however, had been successful in arranging a match with a scratch side representing the Plymouth and District League, which included John Willie Sutcliffe, Plymouth Argyle's international goalkeeper.

EXETER CITY:
Robinson
Craig Bulcock
Ambler Tierney Johnson
White Watson McGuigan Bell Copestake
Referee: Sgt-major Adams.
Sutherland Northey Angear Meager Tredigo

PLYMOUTH LEAGUE
The weather was fine, and the ground in almost perfect condition. There was an attendance of well over 3,000, a good gate for a friendly match. Watson lost the toss to Sutcliffe, and McGuigan kicked off. Within a minute the City forwards had worked their way down, and Watson kept possession of the ball although he had slipped and fallen. He was quickly up again, but fired over the bar. At the other end Robinson saved a cross-drive by Tredigo, then the Grecians were soon attacking again.
Exeter were clearly the superior side, Watson and McGuigan often delighting the crowd with their footwork. Ten minutes before half time Watson received from McGuigan and went forward to score with a shot into the far corner of the net, but a second goal, by Bell, was ruled offside.
Half-time:
City 1-0 Plymouth League
In the first minute, following a centre by Bell, McGuigan put his shot wide. A corner was forced with Bell rushing in to meet a pass by Watson, and twice in rapid succession the City skipper tried a shot at goal. Angear made creditable efforts to break through for the League team, and certainly lost nothing through want of trying. In fact, the League got a surprise goal midway through this half; Sutherland took the ball up the left wing, and Craig and Ambler, attempting to stop him, both miskicked. Ambler, in fact, gave a pass right across to Meager, and the latter, taking careful aim, scored the first goal to pass Robinson in four matches. The City were unable to regain the lead, despite many attempts, and the match ended:
Exeter City 1-1 Plymouth League.
R.M.L.I. v EXETER CITY RESERVES. Plymouth and District League.
At the Brickfields, Devonport, before a large crowd. In the first Exeter attack Tarr forced a corner which Burton punched away. Spargo set up an attack for the Marines but Fenwick cleared. A moment later Freeman, for the Marines, shot wide from a good opening. Drain was a source of constant danger, but many of his efforts were spoiled by the poor shooting of the other forwards.
Half time, no score.
A run along the right wing by Preston saw McDonald secure the ball and get through, scoring with a hot shot. Exeter retaliated and Wells shot wide, and Tarr failed to score with an open goal before him. The game ended in favour of the Marines by a goal to nil.
The Reserves fielded the following team: Fletcher; Hoar, Fenwick; Oliver, E.Wells, Letheren; Sillick, Singlehurst, Warner, Drain, and Tarr
Exeter City Reserves have now played 13 League matches, six won, five lost, and two drawn, goals 29 against 13, and with 14 points are seventh in the table. There are still nine matches to be played before the end of the season.
