QUEEN'S PARK RANGERS v. EXETER CITY

Queen's Park have got to the top of the League and mean to stay there, and a good display on their own ground left Exeter City with little hope of victory.
The Rangers kicked off and scored a goal with only one City player touching the ball. McNaught took the opening pass and flashed along the touch-line until in position, when he centred to Barnes. Barnes drove the ball hard, but straight to Crossthwaite, who could only push the shot out, and the Rangers' captain, following up his own effort, easily scored. The second goal was obtained by McNaught following a free kick against Chadwick. Exeter changed their style in the second half and had the best of the game, but were unable to break down the Rangers' defence.
Result:
Rangers 2 goals, Exeter City nil.

RANGERS: Shaw; Macdonald and Fidler; Mitchell, Hartwell, and Wake; McNaught, Steer, Travers, Whyman, and Barnes.
