Exeter City have come down with bang. Less than a month ago they were top of the world, now they have plunged from the top four to 19th position in the League. We all know that the side has the ability but unless they work they are not going to get anything, the work rate is nowhere near sufficient at the moment, City slumped to defeat against Scunthorpe who were not a good side, City did not show enough determination and up front the forwards hardly troubled the Scunthopre defence. The home sides first goal was a soft one, Deere put Scunthopre ahead after 5 minutes with a soft shot which was enough to beat Peter Shearing and one City defender on the line. Exeter got their equaliser in the 65th minute when Holt handled in the penalty area, John Mitten making no mistake from the spot. City had their fair share of the play, especially in the first half, and after coming at the City in the pepning stages after the interval Scunthorpe pressed most when they were pegged back to 1-1, it did look however, as if Exeter were going to leave with a point until Mike Balson upended Heath and Foley scored with the penalty to give Scunthorpe victory.
