After describing this Exeter City display as the worst of the season, City manager Frank Broome said it was disgraceful for a professional team to play as badly as that. Had it not been for John Smout and Workington's bad shooting, Exeter could have lost 8-0. City looked a pathetic sideThe forward line was practically non existent and although the defence had a lot of work to do, there were problems evident there too. Workington were prepared to graft while in the City side there were players who at times did not compete or attempt to tackle. Exeter showed a late flourish in the final 10 minutes and Bruce Stuckey was only inches away with a good effortThere were a couple of other occasions eventually got their goal in the 63rd minute with a well judged shot by Brayton, City were saved by the performance of Smout, He brought off some fine saves, particularly two in the second half from Trail and ex-Torquay man Spratt who was one of Workington's big danger men. Scorelines do not always give a true reflection of a game and this one certainly did not, for Workington were sadly lacking in finishing and missed a lot of chances,

REES TURNS DOWN BIDEFORD OFFER.
Bideford player manager Ken Whitfield has failed in his attempt to sign former Exeter City forward Graham Rees from Yeovil Town, Instead Rees has signed for Bideford's Western League rivals, Bridgwater Town, who it is believed made him a better offer.
