Exeter player carried off

BINNEY and Gibson raised hopes with some lively raids in the early minutes of the game at Northampton but their efforts were cleared.

Buchanan made a couple of attempts for Northampton before Binney again went through, but Starling, the Northampton goalkeeper, saved well. Near the interval Parker, the Exeter defender, was car- ried off with a suspected broken toe. Crawford substi- tuted.
