GAME OF MISSED CHANCES:
MORE PUNCH NEEDED.
FOOTBALL LEAGUE CUP
HULL CITY 1 EXETER CITY 0.
With a bit more experience and power in the forward line the City could have pulled off a surprise win over the 3rd Division side Hull City at Boothferry Park on Wednesday. In game that mostly notably for missed chances Hull City won with a goal scored by Ray Henderson after 28 minutes.
Hull City:- Swan; Davidson and Butler; Sharpe, Milner, and McMillan;
Clarke, R.Henderson, Chilton, Cummins, and McSeveney.
Exeter City: Barnett; Smyth and MacDonald; Mitchell, Harvey, and Anderson; Rees, J.Henderson, Redwood, Grace, and Ley.
Seventeen years old Barry Redwood, playing his first game for Exeter City, led the Hull centre half a merry dance, and four times in the first half he eluded him neatly to open up chances for himself. On each occasion though, he shot either narrowly wide or without the necessary power to beat Swan.
PARKHILL SIGNS AS FULL PROFESSIONAL.
Exeter City have signed Irish amateur International goalkeeper Parkhill as a full professional. Parkhill who came to the club from Cliftonville in July has been hampered by a groin injury and his original trial period extended but there have been some good reports of the few performances he has made in the reserve team and so the 6'1" keeper was given a full contract,

YEOVIL TOWN 1
EXETER CITY RESERVES 1
AT YEOVIL.
Western League
Exeter City Reserves were a trifle fortunate to pick up a point in their return Western League game with Yeovil Town.
Yeovil Town:- Chilvers; G.Davis and Smale; A.Davis, Burfield, and Webber; Pound, Hirst, Withey, Boulton, and Hamm.
City Reserves: Parkhill; Quarrington and Arbury; Rutley, Parsons, and Edmunds; Stuckey, Edgar, Riding, Dodds, and Spiers.
Exeter in the first half threatened to swamp the "Glovers" with an exhibition of fast and clever football, and it was no surprise when Spiers broke through the middle to place the ball into the net well wide of the advancing Chilvers. But Yeovil despite having all the play in the second half could only score once, through Webber.
