Kenneth Halliday WW2

Kenneth Halliday is known to have played at least one game for Exeter City, against Plymouth Argyle in January 1945, as a wartime ‘guest’ player participating in the series of friendlies that were organised after the club had been in abeyance for five years.  

Born in Lyme Regis in 1925, he was killed in an RAF training incident at the time of the end of the war in Europe on 11 May 1945.

Buried in Lyme Regis he is listed as an Airman 2nd Class in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (Service number 1851328).
