Exeter City had been producing match-day programmes since their days in the Southern League. 

For their first ever match in the English Football League, the programme followed the famliliar style of a single tri-foil folded sheet, and cost the grand sum of 2d.

The main purpose of the programme was to speculate the line-ups, and in the case of the Brentford edition, the team in print was the exact eleven who lined up to begin our club's Football League adventure.
